This is at the corner of St-Laurent Bivd. and Viger Street. Proceed northwards on St-Laurent and you'll find grocery stores, diners, dim-sum houses, jewelry shops and Chinese herb shops.
Popular Chinese rotisserie showcase:
left: roast pork on hook
right: roast duck hanging from hooks
bottom: salted chicken and soya sauce chicken
Freshly baked goods Cantonese style available here. Specialty of the house: egg tarts (lower right) and poster on the right.
If you look for the two distinctive Chinese pavillions on the roof-top of the Holiday Inn Select Centreville, you'll know exactly where Montreal's Chinatown is.
Thank you for letting me go here virtually! Looks like a fine place to stroll and a great subject for photographers.
ReplyDeleteYes, there are usually stalls selling all sorts of goodies out on the sidewalks and in the pedestrian zone. Unfortunately, it was starting to rain and the forecast was not great, the stalls were not set up. :(
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to stop by MPD and leaving a comment. Much appreciated. Good day !
Hi,
ReplyDeleteHaven't been in Chinatown in ages ! Brings back great memories - when do they have the street festivals ? I remember all the colourful stalls - would like to take our son there so he can experience it for the first time.
Thanks for the memories !
